June and Julia
I'm rubbish at this game, updates are few and far between, butbutbut there is a reason!
Have been pretty busy getting a website started (I hate codes, the fuckers) and been working on my new and improved working space, pictures soon...I've also been working on a chain garter as part of a jewellery collection, but believe me when I say it's tricky to make it look like a beautiful piece of jewellery, rather than a piece of bondage equipment!
Also you must look at the work of Julia Deville, I was lucky enough to come across it a couple of weeks back and its simply stunning. A trained taxidermist, she has turned her hand to Jewellery design and the result is wonderful...

Vanessa Bruno
A really great model-turned-Fashion designer from France. Her clothes are so delicate and elegant with a fantastic carefree aura to them...
As if that wasn't enough feast your eyes upon this, Vanessa's latest promo video featuring Lou Doillon...
gorgeous
(must at some point find a floor suitable for flour pouring and then dancing)

14th JULY 2010
This day cannot come around quick enough! On July 14th, I shall be making a brief escape from England and travelling around Europe for a month. I wish I had a fast forward button, you know similar to that one in the game The Sims? My brain seems to have turned into a mass of empty space lately, I must be walking around in my own little introverted world, nothing is motivating me at the moment. So, hopefully a month trekking around europe will sort that out ;)
It feels like a thunderstorm is coming outside. Good, England needs a good thunderstorm.

Sassoferrato
'Sassoferrato places emphasis on the softly modelled draperies, the white veil and brilliant blue cloak, painted in ultramarine. The face remains largely in shadow, the eyes downcast, and this has the effect of highlighting the hands joined in prayer. '
The colours used in this painting are so perfect and presented so vibrantly against the solid black backdrop, that looking at it from the screen of a computer does it no justice at all. You can find this gracing the walls of The National Gallery in London, which if you ever get the chance to visit, you really really must!! In real life this painting looks completely 3D, Like you could put your hand into the picture and feel every drape and crease in the fabrics. I really do not think that talent like this exists anymore, i've yet to see the work of a modern painter who uses as much detailling and takes as much time to produce such photographic-like images.
The colourway of ultramarine, coral and white are going to definately be of some influence on my spring wardrobe this year! :)

It's a LOVE/HATE thing...
I am not a hateful person. I dislike confrontation and never like to finish on a bad note with anyone. However sometimes, just sometimes…I really…REALLY…hate the Fashion industry….and then I hate myself for hating it…and then I hate that I hate myself for hating it…because I can’t help but actually LOVE fashion.
Because, you see, on the other hand I am wholly grateful that it does exist, otherwise these STUNNING images would never have been born...

absent...but not forgotten!!
I'm going to be shaking it up a bit and doing a more behind-the-scenes look at the Fashion industry. I'm also now freelancing with a pretty nifty stylist in London, who has kindly given me access to all they gain access too, so expect lots of pictures of truley marvelous things ;)

P P P P P P P P Paintface...
'warpaint - elephants'
I was listening to this song whilst battling my way through the blizzards of London town and think you should have a listen too. And going with it's name, this post is going to be all about the wonderous invention of the colourful liquid substance other wise known as PAINT.
Iain Crawford, now he's a man who knows how to work with paint. He is a fantastic beauty photographer who creates stunning images that make your eyes go wide and your mouth go wow. Every image is based around the movement in explosions of paint or a liquid as it hits the skin. His work pretty much speaks for itself...

Escada for Janvier...
MUSIQUE
ah...yes...I can sense this blogging business is going to be a bit trickier than I first thought! It's coding galore, but none the less I shall soldier on!..
So, ever since I first saw the fall 09 Balenciaga show I was pretty much obsessed with it. The colour palette of silver greys, deep blues and sneaky peeks of frosty candy colours were perfect. It hits the underwear as outer wear trend in all the right ways and the silhouettes and draping were gorgeous. Nicolas Ghesquiere you are a great man. However my favourite piece was the navy blue velvet wrap cardigan. I loved it so much I might actually buy a velvet dressing gown, adjust the seaming to shape and add some shoulder pads and satin trimming (I'm thinking Duchess satin because it's quite heavy but has a more matted sheen to it?)...

Couple of months ago I had a VERY successful trip to a charity shop, where I found an Escada jacket in my size and priced at £5. It took all my willpower not to jump up and down in an excited celebratory manner until I got home. Anyway I'm wearing it today...

That's all for now...
